Terms of use

What this is

Euchre Clubhouse is software for running euchre tournaments and keeping a club's records — the roster, the draw, the scores, the standings and the money a club collects and pays out. It is operated by Euchre Clubhouse Inc., the business of the same name. Using it means accepting what is on this page.

Your account, and your club

You need an account to join a club, and an account is yours alone. Keep the password to yourself, and tell us if you think somebody else has it.

Your club's admin decides who is in the club. They approve people who arrive with a join code, match them to the name on the roster, and can archive or remove a name. We do not overrule them, and we cannot let you into a club they have not let you into.

What the club's records are

Results belong to the club rather than to the app. A tournament you played in stays part of the club's record after you leave it, in the same way a result written in a notebook does — otherwise a season's standings would change every time somebody moved away.

Your account is a different thing, and you can close it. See Getting your data out, and having it deleted below.

Money

No money passes through this site. The app records what a club says it collected at the door and what it paid out at the end — the same arithmetic somebody would otherwise do on paper. It takes no payments, holds no funds, and settles nothing between players. Anything owed is owed between the people in the room.

What you may not do

  • Try to reach a club, a record or an account that is not yours.
  • Break, overload or work around the way the app decides who sees what.
  • Collect other people's details out of it by hand or by machine.
  • Put anything unlawful, or anything about somebody who has not agreed to be in it, onto a roster or into a tournament.

It is provided as it is

We do our best to keep the app working and the records true, and we do not promise that it will never be unavailable, never lose anything, or never be wrong. As far as the law allows, Euchre Clubhouse Inc. is not liable for losses arising from using it.

Keep your own copy. An admin can save the whole league to a file at any time from History & backups, and restore it on any device. A club that does this once a season can lose nothing that matters.

Changes to these terms

We may change what is on this page. The date under the heading says when it last changed, and continuing to use the app after that means accepting the new wording.

Website and privacy policy

Where a league actually lives

An admin's league — the roster, every tournament, the draw, the scores and the money — is stored in their own browser, on the device they run tournaments from. It is what lets the app work in a hall with no signal. Clearing that browser's site data removes it, which is why History & backups exists.

A copy is sent to the club's own database when the admin presses Sync with the club. That copy is what members read.

What we hold on our servers

For a club:

  • its name, its join code and its settings;
  • the roster — the names on it, and any note or phone number the admin has written beside one;
  • every tournament the admin has sent up: the date, who played, the scores, the placings, the prize money and the seasons they fall in;
  • the contact details the admin chooses to publish so people joining can reach them.

For an account:

  • the email address you sign in with, and the name you gave;
  • which clubs you belong to, and which name on each roster is yours;
  • a phone number, only if you chose to give one.

Who can see it

A club's boards, results and money are visible to the people that club's admin has let in, and to nobody else. Your email address is shown to your club's admin — they need it to tell two people of the same name apart when they let somebody in — and is not shown to other members.

A phone number you give is optional, is shown only to your club's admin, and is never published on a board or shown to other members. You can clear it at any time from your club page.

Signing in

Accounts and passwords are handled by our authentication provider. We never see or store your password. Changing your email address sends a confirmation to the new address, and nothing moves until that link is followed.

Cookies, and what we do not do

The app sets two cookies, and both are needed for it to work:

  • one that keeps you signed in;
  • one remembering which club this browser is reading, for people who are in more than one.

There is no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking anywhere in this app. Nothing about you is sold, shared or handed to anybody for marketing, and no advertising cookie is set.

Email we send

Email is used to sign you in, to reset a password, to confirm a change of address, and to send a club invitation when an admin asks for one. There is no marketing email, and there is no list to be on.

Children

This app is meant for the adults running and playing in a club. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly keep their details. A child's name may appear on a roster because their club plays — that is a name and a score, and there is no account behind it.

Getting your data out, and having it deleted

An admin can export everything a club holds, at any time, from History & backups. A member can see everything the club holds about them on Your record.

To leave a club, or to have your account and the details attached to it deleted, ask your club's admin, who can do it from Player Admin. Their contact details are on your club page. Results you have already played stay part of the club's record — see What the club's records are above.

Questions about the evening rather than the small print are answered in the Q&A.
